Belgrade, MT

Calvin Vollrath, Canada’s “Fiddling Sensation” from St. Paul, Alberta, is presenting a concert

Saturday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the Belgrade High School auditorium. The concert is sponsored

by the Montana State Oldtime Fiddles and the Bozeman Folklore Society. Admission is $15, and

seating is open.

Vollrath is a musical prodigy who started playing at the age of 8. He as won several major

competitions, he has composed close to 500 original tunes, and he was inducted into the North

American Fiddlers’ Hall of Fame in 2011. He was commissioned to compose five songs, each

representing a different style of Canadian fiddling, to perform at the opening ceremonies for the 2010

Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Calvin’s concert will feature a wide range of music, ranging from Celtic and Canadian folk tunes to

Western Swing. He will be accompanied by Clinton Pelletier on guitar and Kimberly Holmes on

piano. Pelletier, from Alberta, and Holmes, from Nova Scotia, are outstanding musicians in their

own rights, and they strongly complement Vollrath’s fiddling.
